Typically, SWAS systems require multiple transmitters to convert measurement data into a format that can be digitally forwarded to various monitoring systems. In larger facilities, this can mean a considerable number of transmitters. In the Kontram OverSight SWAS system, measurement data is received directly from the sensor to a local redundant processing unit, which processes the data and transmits it to the service interface. By eliminating the need for separate transmitters, significant cost savings are achieved purely in terms of equipment investment.

Efficient Data Utilization and Predictive Maintenance

Data collected by the OverSight SWAS sampling station provides our customers with precise information about the condition of their production assets throughout their lifecycle. Traditionally, calibrating a SWAS system requires an operator to be physically present and perform manual tasks on each sensor individually. This consumes labor hours and introduces a risk of human error. The Kontram OverSight SWAS enables automatic calibration, allowing sensors to be calibrated according to a user-defined schedule, either based on time intervals or measurement values.

Blockages in coolers always lead to measurement inaccuracies, which can ultimately require halting the entire sampling station for maintenance. This increases the risk of corrosion and allows impurities to accumulate in production equipment. OverSight’s automatic sample line purging function enables regular cleaning of the sample line, ensuring consistent measurement accuracy in the sampling system and preventing variations caused by accumulated impurities.

Optimal Sample Cooling, Quality Monitoring, and Cation Filter Management with the OverSight System

Sample cooling is a critical part of an effective sample handling process. Cooling hot samples requires optimal performance—any reduction in cooler efficiency increases the required cooling capacity, which can affect the overall efficiency of the sampling process. OverSight monitors cooler performance in real time and triggers alerts if cooling demand exceeds preset thresholds.

Sample quality is crucial for obtaining reliable measurement results. Measurement values and process conditions form the basis for data reliability and its use in decision-making. OverSight continuously monitors sample flow and temperature fluctuations, ensuring that samples are taken accurately and at the right time.
